The grand celebration
Gala Night at Sindhu House · 1 November 2026
Our heritage
Milestones from a century of community life — told in full on the Our Journey page.
Ten Sindhi merchants gather under Mr T Naraindas to form the Sindhi Merchants Association — the seed from which everything that followed has grown.
The Association acquires its first property at Enggor Street, offering board and shelter to Sindhis arriving in Singapore.
Sindhis displaced from their homeland find support here. The Association acquires Neil Road and Oxley Rise to house families rebuilding their lives.
First rented as the Sindhi Club's recreation centre and later purchased by the Association, Sindhu House becomes the Cultural & Religious Centre of Singapore's Sindhi community.
Renamed the Singapore Sindhi Association, with membership open to all adult Sindhis in Singapore.
Singapore hosts the International Sindhi Sammelan — Sindhis from across the globe gather at the SSA.
With 650+ members and a community more than 4,000 strong, the Association marks its 105th year — the milestone these celebrations honour.
