Social Events

From the Annual Gala Night — SSA’s most glamorous evening — to family-friendly movie nights, family days and festive open houses, our social calendar keeps the community connected, joyful and together.

These events are not just parties. They are the glue that holds generations of Sindhis together — where children grow up knowing who they are, and elders feel they truly belong.

Annual · March/April

Cheti Chand Celebrations

The Sindhi New Year is our biggest community day. A full programme — jalus, aarti, Sindhi food, cultural performances and the joy of celebrating who we are together. Hundreds of Sindhis gather at Sindhu House each year.

Throughout the year

Cultural Programmes

Sindhi music, dance, drama and poetry evenings. SSA regularly hosts cultural programmes that keep Sindhi arts alive for the next generation — including our Poetry & Literary Evenings and Knowledge Series.

Giving Back to Singapore

Charitable Events

SSA has been one of the major blood donors in Singapore, recognised by the Ministry of Health. Our charitable work reaches beyond the Sindhi community — to old age homes, orphanages, students in need and anyone the community can help.

Giving is not just about making a donation — it is about making a difference. That spirit drives every SSA charitable initiative.

Two bursary awards given each year to deserving students — sponsored entirely by SSA members and donors. Recognising and supporting academic achievement within the Sindhi community and beyond.

Ongoing

Widow Fund & Financial Assistance

The Association — with the help of members — reaches out to those in need within the community: sponsoring education, providing financial assistance and ensuring no Sindhi family in Singapore faces hardship alone.

Annual

Vesak Day Programme

SSA organises a special programme on Vesak Day in the spirit of inter-faith generosity. Donations from kind-hearted members are directed to charitable causes — reflecting SSA's multi-faith and inclusive values.

Regular

Visits to Charitable Homes

SSA volunteers visit old age homes, orphanages and homes for the less privileged — spending time with residents, making donations and bringing warmth. It is not just the money that matters. It is the presence.

Year-round

Community Welfare Support

Transport for elderly members, grocery assistance, bereavement support and welfare visits — SSA looks after its own. And those in the wider community who need a helping hand.

Play, Compete & Excel

Sports Activities

SSA’s sports programme is one of its most competitive and spirited. Our athletes have competed at the highest level across the region — representing Singapore at the South-East Asian Sindhi Games against teams from Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines.

Team SG has consistently performed with distinction — winning medals and bringing home pride.
