Members also enjoy all SSA religious functions, prayers, seminars, cultural performances, demo classes and community programmes throughout the year — and bereavement notices are sent free by SMS to the entire SSA community on a member's behalf.

It's Simple
Joining SSA takes just four easy steps. Our Secretariat is here to help you every step of the way.
Request the New Membership Form from the Secretariat by phone or email, or collect it in person at Sindhu House during office hours.
Complete all sections of the form. You will need your NRIC/passport details and a passport-sized photograph.
Submit your completed form to the SSA Secretariat together with your entrance fee and first year's annual subscription.
Your application is reviewed by the Management Committee. Once approved — welcome to the Sindhi family at Sindhu House!

Common Questions
Any adult Sindhi residing in Singapore is eligible to join SSA as an Ordinary Member. Since 2003, when the Association was renamed from the Sindhi Merchants Association to the Singapore Sindhi Association, membership has been open to all adult Sindhis — not just merchants.

Applications are reviewed by the Management Committee at their regular meetings. Typically, you will hear back from the Secretariat within 3–5 working days of submitting your completed form and payment. Once approved, your membership commences immediately.
Yes! Many SSA events are open to members' families. The Diwali Grand Open House, for example, is completely free for all members and their families — including children. Specific guest policies vary by event and will be stated in event notices.
The Tipna is the annual Sindhi Almanac — a book listing all auspicious dates, times and festivals in the Sindhi calendar for the year. SSA provides one free copy to every member annually. The usual retail price is $5 per book. It is particularly useful for planning family ceremonies and pujas.
SSA's resident Maharaj is available to members for family religious ceremonies — naming ceremonies (cradle ceremonies), weddings, Satya Narayan pujas, and other auspicious occasions. Simply contact the Secretariat to enquire about availability and arrange a booking.
Yes. SSA members receive discounted rates for booking rooms and halls at Sindhu House for personal functions — birthday celebrations, family gatherings, pujas, and more. Contact the Secretariat for availability and member rates.
Ordinary members who have been full paying members for at least one year may apply to convert to Life Membership. This involves a one-time payment in lieu of further annual subscriptions, subject to Management Committee consent. Contact the Secretariat for current Life Membership fees.
