We came with nothing but the songs our mothers sang, the names of rivers we would never see again. Singapore gave us sky — we gave it everything else.

English Translation

Love, love, love. In your separation, Why does this heart become restless? To catch a glimpse of you, I wait eagerly in anticipation. Watching your intoxicating eyes My heart's desire only climbs higher. Seeing the radiant smile of your face Brings solace to my heart. Your enchanting fragrance Brings peace to my soul. Why do you torment me? Embrace me and let my life flourish. Without you in this world, This universe is empty.

English Translation

Mother's Memory Mother, may your image wander in my mind forever. May the light of your love always kindle my being. On the path you have given me, May I always follow your steps. Of your spoken words, May I remember by heart forever. Of the lullaby you gave, May I always reflect. Of your thousand favours, May I weigh them with gold every time. May I forever pass on the deeds you've instilled in me. In the sanctuary of your blessings, May I dwell forever. Chatru Vaswani
